book report number three; part one.

I read the book Charlie St. Cloud, by Ben Sherwood. I thought that the character Charlie was a very interesting character because he was so caring, and loving, but at the same time he is a very confident and strong character. All that Charlie wanted to do was be out sailing on a boat. He was very good at sailing. He was so good that colleges offered him scholarships. One day he was driving his neighbors' car around town with his little brother, Sam. A car crashed into the back of the vehicle. After the car crashed into the back of the vehicle, Charlie couldn't move the car. A semi crashed into the passenger’s side of the car, killing both Charlie and Sam. Charlie was always telling Sam that he would never leave him. Telling his brother that he would never leave him shows that Charlie is a very loving character towards his brother. Charlie was miraculously brought back from the dead by a guy in the ambulance. Unfortunately they cannot save Sam. Charlie promises Sam that every day they will practice baseball in the woods. The fact that Charlie plays baseball with his dead brother everyday shows that he cares about and loves his brother and doesn't want to lose him. I think that Charlie is very confident because the facts that he can stand up to people if they make fun of him, or people that are his friends. I also think that Charlie is a very selfless person because he puts his life in danger by saving a girl’s life that is out sailing in a storm and her boat crashes. Charlie ends up saving this girls' life thanks to Florio Ferrente who told Charlie that he was given a second chance at life for a reason, and Charlie believed that saving another person's life was the reason that he was given his second chance.I love how that in the book Charlie doesn’t care what anyone thinks of him. A lot of people in the book think that Charlie is weird because he keeps to himself a lot since his brother died. Also, they think that he can’t have fun because he is too depressed about the death, and he bottles it up. Charlie doesn't care about this. He does whatever he wants to do anyways without anyone stopping him.
