Choice Book Report Four; Part One.

I read the book Here's How I See It, Here's How It Is, By Heather Henson. The main character in my book is Junebug Cantrell. I think that Junebug is a very interesting character. She's interesting because she has a dream of becoming a serious stage actress, or a real movie star one day. I think that she could be a movie star or have some type of acting job one day because she is growing up around the theater. Her dad owns The Blue Moon Playhouse, which is a theater. Also, her dad takes acting classes, and has performed on Broadway. I think that her dad could help Junebug with her acting if she ever got the chance to be a real actress. I also think that Junebug has a very interesting personality. She sees things how no one else sees them. She has a big imagination. That’s how she tells the story, half of each chapter is how she sees it, half of the chapter is how it really is. In the story, Junebug isn’t very popular. She doesn’t have many friends besides the people that are about twice her age at Blue Moon. At school she is known as the sister of Stella or Beck (her popular sister and brother). Her parents have noticed over the years that she is not that popular and they try to get her to make an effort to fit in. Junebug doesn’t want to try to fit in because it would be too hard for her. I think that she is also a very strong character. She has all this anger bottled up inside her, and she just acts like everything’s alright, and she cares about everyone else more than herself. During the story, her dad has a heart attack and is put in the hospital, right before he has the heart attack; Junebug wrote him a note about how she feels he has been changing and how their relationship as father and daughter has been falling apart during the summer. She feels like it’s all her fault that he had a heart attack, and she goes and visits him every day, and apologizes every time that she sees him. I think that this shows that Junebug is a very caring person.
